SUBIC BAY Freeport, Philippines—A trucking system that is used to transport cargo in other countries will be introduced here to speed up shipment and delivery of goods between this Zambales freeport and the Clark Freeport in Pampanga.

The Subic-based International Heavy Trucks Center (IHTC) is introducing the road train, or “triples,” a trucking system used in Argentina, Australia, Mexico, the United States and Canada to efficiently transport cargo along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) before yearend.

The road train is a tractor that pulls two or three interconnected trailers.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Administrator Armand Arreza said the road train will save companies transport costs and provide more efficient means of delivering goods between Clark and Subic. Robert Gonzaga, Inquirer Central Luzon
